Sony: A more conscious future
Shark Ninja
Kitchen Experience Table
When Shark Ninja looked to elevate their in-store presence within John Lewis & Partners they needed more than a standard display.
They needed a destination that combined product demonstration with premium brand storytelling.
Partnering with ISI Global, the goal was to create a standalone “Experience Table” designed to showcase Ninja’s premium coffee machines, spark deep shopper engagement, and provide a fully functional stage for live brand ambassador events.
The final fixture balances high-end domestic storytelling with commercial execution.
The brief was to engineer a modular 3m x 1m experience table that could comfortably sit in a premium department store. It needed to accommodate multiple product categories, host live coffee demonstrations, integrate digital touchpoints, and hide an internal refrigeration system, while maintaining storage for boxed stock beneath the display.
To create an authentic, premium domestic feel, we combined rich timber slats with light wood finishes and seamless LED-illuminated branding. The standout feature is the realistic “Metro tile” backsplash. Delivered in lightweight sheets and precision-cut on site, it creates the feeling of a premium home kitchen while remaining entirely durable and safe for a busy retail environment.
The biggest engineering challenge was integrating a fully functional sink and tap into a department store space with no access to mains drainage. Our development teams designed a self-contained, closed-loop water system hidden within the cabinetry. Complete with an independent pump, hot and cold-water tanks and an integrated heater, the system supports live demonstrations through a simple daily maintenance routine.
Retail moves fast, and the table was engineered to move with it. Designed for effortless seasonal product rotations, allowing the store to switch from hot coffee winter setups to summer blender campaigns. The tabletop features custom solid-surface plinths shaped around Ninja’s diverse product ranges, while integrated endcaps provide dedicated launch space for new products.
The lower cabinetry was engineered to maximise the space. We integrated a functional fridge alongside the concealed plumbing system, ensuring there was still capacity to store bulky boxed products directly beneath the display.
It commands attention while transforming the shopper journey and positioning Ninja as a dominant, premium player in the space.
The project was such a success that John Lewis & Partners highly praised our innovative plumbing and compliance layout. In fact, JLP now uses ISI Global’s closed-loop system as the reference design for other global brands introducing running-water demonstrations across its retail estate.
Designing a premium experiential retail display requires balancing brand storytelling with strict store guidelines. Key elements include using high-quality materials (like timber slats and realistic finishes), integrating digital screens, and ensuring the layout supports live product demonstrations. Partnering with an experienced retail design agency ensures a seamless transition from concept to store floor.
Yes, we can install a fully functional sink anywhere on the shop floor using a self-contained, closed-loop water system. This engineering solution conceals independent freshwater and wastewater tanks, water pumps, and heaters directly inside the retail cabinetry. It allows brands to host live cooking or coffee demonstrations safely without cutting into the store’s main plumbing.
Achieving full retail compliance requires close collaboration with the retailer’s approval teams from the initial pitch. At ISI Global, we manage the entire process, ensuring the fixture design meets precise standards for 360-degree accessibility, electrical safety for multiple live appliances, and premium material durability.
The best way to manage seasonal retail campaigns is through modular fixture design. By engineering displays with interchangeable tabletops and flexible product plinths, store staff can easily swap product ranges, such as switching from winter coffee makers to summer blenders. This flexibility keeps the display fresh and maximizes retail ROI year-round.
